Before we get into the meat of the CG Flea, I wanted to introduce this slightly revised, slightly more - dare I say- polished? version of my Substack.

It’s been on my mind for a while to share more with you guys in a more curated way that lasts a little longer than stories or rummaging through highlights. It’s been working well so far on here, but I officially have bigger plans. There’s a lot to say about our home, my favorite places in the city, personal stories, and I think this is the perfect place to share it! It’s all coming soon to oh mon dieu!

CG FLEA

This is the first post under the new name, and it felt right to begin with something I truly love: the thrill of a vintage find. If you’re new here, CG Flea is a paid-subscriber benefit to give the people who really want these one-of-a-kind items a fighting chance! These are pieces I’ve curated from hours of scouring Ebay and Etsy and other vintage sites, all filtered by what I’m personally into lately. You can find earlier editions here.

For example I had to swap out a couple of these because I bought them before I could hit publish and had to force myself not to buy more.

I got these glass bowls from Porta the week of my sister’s wedding. I popped into Porta in Brooklyn to grab some accessories for the house since we were hosting the afterparty. Porta is a great shop if you’re ever in Brooklyn. It has really beautiful, well-made new pieces and a fantastic and refreshing edit of vintage. These glass bowls were part of their vintage selection, and I went home with three of them. I love the imperfect, organic shapes in bold colors that feel a little more like my house. They looked so perfect scattered across the house the night of the party, and I still use them daily for trinkets and jewelry. It sent me on a deep dive of finding similar pieces online.

PINK BOWL, KIDNEY SHAPE, GREEN GEODE BOWL, CRANBERRY SWIRL WITH HANDLE, AMETHYST GEODE BOWL, STRIPE GLASS BOWL
