I promised my kids bagels the other morning and fate rewarded me with an equally delicious estate sale right around the corner that I never would have seen otherwise (Apple weather reporting “feels like 14 degrees” and I think that’s inflated). The crowd at an estate sale in Brooklyn on Saturday morning is a vibe. See below. The estate belonged to a couple in their 90s who (romantically) passed away within weeks of each other. At least that’s what Camille who ran the estate sale said. Plucked heartstrings mean open purse strings.

Anyway, I think there’s something beautiful about an estate sale. The dust, the cracked spines of books, mismatched glasses and dishes; tiptoeing through the artifacts of someones life and trying to work backwards to create a picture of what these humans were like. As I left my main thought was that it’s lucky to live long enough to gather dust and that the best possessions are acquired over a lifetime.

We bought a beautiful wooden cabinet that i’m planning to put my sweaters in. I’m nothing if not decisive, and let’s be honest, also hasty so I already repainted the back wall a glossy shade of brown. I’m tingly from paint fumes and excited to bring you this edition of hits, wants, desires, and inspiration that I’ve collected recently.

The red one-piece is coming with me to Mexico at the end of the month to wear on its own and possibly with this. Below that is a book I can’t wait to read. I sat next to
