Target is having a sale on my holy grail skincare so I’m forcing myself to write a long format post with exactly how I use it all. This post is not sponsored by Target or Mother Superior Marini. Just a love letter from me to you. Here is a list of all retailers *not* authorized to sell Jan Marini for future reference.
Shall we start at night?
When it comes to cleansing, I would rather fully get into the shower than have water splash down my hands and forearms (why is this the worst feeling on earth?). Plus, I live in NY and nighttime showers feel particularly essential. If I’m wearing makeup I will use an oil cleanser to remove what’s on my face. Typically this does the trick. After I’ve removed my makeup I use the Glycolic Face Cleanser. I just put a dime sized amount in my hands and gently wash my face. I go a little harder on my t-zone and I avoid my eye area.
I always keep a box of these in my shower to make sure all the soap residue is off the sides of my face. They’re also nice to have around to verify that you’ve actually gotten all your makeup off.
If I have the time I will use my LED mask (discount code “COURTNEYG”) at this point in the process. I like to use it before I apply any product to my face but I know people who do the opposite.
Next I use Dr. Diamond Metacine (also currently on sale) first thing on my skin. We all need to be using Growth Factors and his variety is my favorite because it blends seamlessly into my skincare routine. One dropper full is enough for my face, neck, and hands.
Then follow with:
2-3 pumps of C-Esta Face Serum. I kind of go overboard with this because I love the way it feels and smells. The texture is thin and watery with a slight orange tint.
One large drop of Bioclear Face Lotion. This is not a lotion in the traditional sense. It is a goopy clear liquid formulated with glycolic, azelaic and salicylic acids to effectively purify the pores and lightly exfoliate the skin. I avoid my eye area with this.
One pump of the Age Intervention Duality. This product contains “maximum allowed percentage of ultra-micronized benzoyl peroxide, highly concentrated all-trans-retinol, green tea extract, anti-aging peptides, advanced hydrators and antioxidants deliver unparalleled results in an easy to use solution”. I just feel like it works.
Sometimes after this step that I notice my skin feeling a bit active and tingly. It doesn’t burn but I can feel things moving and shaking.
Finally, the last step is the Transformation face cream. I have never been so monogamous with a face lotion in my life. I might work in an eye cream at some point but right now this is all that gets slathered all over my under eyes, face, and neck.
If you’re wanting a little glow in the morning, mist 4-5 sprays of this on your face and chest. It’s on the mild side of self-tanners and hard to mess up.
After that I pop two of these as a reward, use my favorite toothpaste and tuck in to some murdery show situation. Has anyone else watched the Mortician on Max?
Next morning:
I take one of these (tip- they are easy to rip in half and one side is plenty) get it wet with just water and wipe my face off. The CESTA can leave a bit of an orange residue so you need to watch for that build up around your eyebrows and hairline if you’re generous with the product like I like to be.
After I wipe off my face with water (no cleanser) I reapply Dr. Diamond, CESTA, and Transformation face cream. The tinted Jan Marini sunscreen isn’t my top pick if im going to be putting makeup on. Lately I have just been reaching for this.
Annoyingly this is a system that works really well together so instead of just trying one or two items, I would get this set of mini products from amazon. It doesn’t have the Age Duality but it will give you a sense of the line.
What did I miss????
Here is a collection of some of the Jan Marini praise i’ve received.
